This is a lettering project from quite a few years ago. I am showing this as an example of a rough sketch and what it turns into. The rough was created with loose pencil lines and a marker to darken the lines of the letter shapes. The sketch took about 2 minutes to create, was scanned and used as a template in Adobe Illustrator.
Back in my art studio days when Mac computers did not exist I would have spent about 8 hours making a precise pencil drawing and many additional hours inking the drawing.
