Ten College Scholarships For Graphic Design Majors

The field of graphic design is in transition.  Hard copy projects remain in demand, but competition from foreign sources means that some of this work is now being handled overseas. Yet the good news is that soft copy projects — those jobs which involve the design and lay out of weblogs, internet pages and websites — continues to grow as companies rely more on viral content then they do on print copy. Importantly, many of these jobs are done in the US and designers are well compensated. Most graphic designers have at least an associate’s degree, which may be enough for certain technical positions, however those designers who have a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and experience in animation and web design are most in demand and command a higher salary. No matter where you plan on refining your craft whether that be at an art institute, state university or private college, you may want to seek out graphic design college scholarships to help cover some of your costs.
