Recent Creations } 50's Inspired Invite | Part 1

I have been waiting to share this invite forever!! Since it was a surprise party and all ... I had to wait until after the party to share it's fabulousness. I had the pleasure of being a guest at the party, soooo in Part 2 of this post I'll share some pics from the event. :)

This 50's inspired invite, with an actual vinyl 45 included, has to be one of my all time favorite invitations to date. Inspired by the 50's themed event put on to celebrate a 60th birthday party by two of my long time friends & loyal clients.

The 45's can actually be ordered silent with no music or with music on them!! How sweet is that?? Like, any music!!!

In keeping with the theme and era, our color palette was red, pink, turquoise ... with touches of black and white.

We created a custom addressing band for the outside of the envelope. The addressing band wrapped around to the back where the return address was located. Sometimes addressing on dark color envelopes is tricky and a band like this is a fun alternative. I use addressing bands like this a lot on mailer box invitations, too!

One of my fav parts of this invite has to be the little peep-hole center where you can see through to the little label on the 45 - love how it worked as part of the whole design and apart. Divine!

Now that things are slowing down just a little here at SJD, we're getting back to sharing the amazing projects that have been keeping us up burning the midnight oil.

A Dazzling 70th

My super-friends (super ... because they have 5 little ones under 5!), The Rekers Family, ordered birthday invitations for mom's 70th birthday celebration.  The invitation was inspired by the dazzling and luxurious Mom herself.  She loves pink - and I thought a muted palette lent itself to vintage, dusty rose accents.  It's a 7x7 panel design, with a triple matte, metallic & matte papers, ribbon trim and hand glittering.

I'm so into this hand glittering right now.  It is really time consuming but the effect is well worth the work.  Up next, my little one's Scooby invites ... working on those babies tonight!!

Kidz > Merry, Merry First Birthday

Been super-busy with invites and it's been a month now since my last post!!  Yikes.  I had to put up these first birthday invites - they came out super cute.  Not sure if you can see in the photographs but the icing on the ginger-girl is hand glued and glittered.  Very time consuming - but the effect is sooo worth it!

The invitation is a 7x7 square, triple matte plus the invitation layer - 4 layers in all, hand glittering, Swarovski crystal, flat satin bow, custom printed envelope liner, classic & metallic papers and a custom printed envelope.  Wow-y!!

This set of 25 ran: $15 each (plus sales tax and custom design fee of $85 for celebrations).  Assemble it yourself and save more!  I offer incremental discounts on all invitation packages, too.  100+ = 5%, 150+ = 10%, 200+ = 15%, 500+ = 20% and DIY (Do It Yourself) = 25%.  Savings may appear even greater (on your invoice) than the incremental percentage since with custom printing there are charges at the printer that are incurred on each order.

This little invite posting is a reminder, too!  The holidays are right around the corner ... order your holiday greetings now to ensure timely delivery.  There are several signature designs for this year >>> look over to the menu on the right under HOLIDAY or we can create one uniquely you!!

You'll want to mail your holiday greetings to family and friends by the week of December 15th.  If (you're like most of us) and wait until the last minute ... you can create a Happy New Years type greeting.  If that is the case - those should go out the week of (or immediately following) Christmas.  In any case, I'm booking up, so don't delay!!!
