work wednesday: bridget + tom.

it's snowing here! what a perfect day to share this mitten save the date for bridget + tom's winter nostalgia themed wedding at terrain this coming january. the inspiration came from classic golden books (a childhood favorite) and norwegian knit patterns that bridget brought in during her consultation. we combined those elements to create a memorable save the date for her guests to hang in their home or on the christmas tree for the upcoming wedding. the save the date was printed in full color, then die cut into a fun mitten shape with a hole punch for some old-fashioned cotton-wrapped twine.

work wednesday: samantha + christopher.

our post was held up yesterday due to hurricane sandy's power outage. we hope those near us are all doing well under the devastating circumstances. we feel very fortunate to have little damage to our homes.

we hope to cheer you up with samantha + christopher's colorful ticket to wed! samantha came to us with a juicy color palette of raspberry, grape, tangerine and papaya and a request for her save the date to resemble a carnival ticket. we had fun mixing fonts and miniature icons to represent philadelphia and the loews hotel (once a historic bank). the long vertical ticket and hotel card were printed in full color and fit nicely into a top open envelope with wrapped address label. we carried the color palette and pattern over to the coordinating thank you note. we look forward to working on this fun couple's wedding invitation package!

work wednesday: elizabeth + andrew.

a very whimsical save the date for elizabeth and andrew who are getting married at the please touch museum this coming spring. the front of this card features a carousel* in honor of the restored 1908 dentzel carousel that spins happily in memorial hall where the reception takes place. we used bright colors and mixed fonts inspired by this charming children's museum. the card was finished off with a tag that reads 'save the date' on the front and wedding date on the back. the finished piece was mailed out in a robin's egg blue envelope with coordinating address label.

*we had a special request to include icons representing the bride and groom's hobbies in the top pattern of the carousel. it may be difficult to see...try to spot the teeny-tiny ultimate frisbee player and paint brush!

work wednesday: allyson + justin.

allyson + justin adored the scratch off save the date concepts that we've designed in the past, but added a twist by turning theirs into a magnet. so instead of printing on paper we printed these on a magnetic material that can easily be placed onto guests' refrigerators as a reminder of their special day. their palette of lilac and mixed grays will be perfect for a romantic wedding at the manor next summer.

work wednesday: vera + cameron.

vera + cameron are tying the knot this august in rhode island. vera knew she wanted a letterpressed save the date and a design that was minimal, graphic, and elegant. we achieved this with an oversized monogram that was pressed into the thick cotton paper without ink along with lower-case gray text. we love when typography becomes the design. we look forward to working with vera again on her wedding invites!

work wednesday: philly save the date.

save the date for a philadelphia wedding this fall. the bride and groom* wanted a sophisticated design with a pop of philly fun. a vertical stripe and city scape pattern give the front of the card a formal feeling. with a quick flip, guests are greeted with a tiny icon of the infamous rocky statue (this was the groom's touch!)

*the bride and groom love loveleigh's blog, but want to keep their names private

work wednesday: laura and michael.

scratch-off save the date for laura and michael's august wedding in minnesota. laura mentioned that she admired the popular scratch-off save the dates that we've previously designed, but wanted to incorporate their engagement photo into the design. we combined both elements and fit the entire wedding date beneath one large scratch-off instead of the normal three. we think the photo worked out beautifully, we love how the the overall gray color palette is balanced with touches of warmth from the pale yellow font and warm skin tones.
