Kiddos } Ladybug Invitations, Pennant & Tissue Pom Poms

I've mentioned how much I love when previous brides call for baby shower & birthday papery for their growing families ... and Lainey's parents are no exception!!! Love them!

Ladybugs set the stage for Lainey's first birthday celebration this past weekend. I had the pleasure of creating invitations, pennant and {Yes! You see them!!!} a tissue pom pom party-pack complete with custom Ladybug poms!!!

Our Ladybug PomThingy's are up on my Etsy shop now!

These tissue ladybugs are the first of their kind and can be found only at SJD!! Yep we're the first to take tissue pom poms to the next level ... and we've got lots more PomThingy's {that's what I'm calling these little critters!} to post over the next several weeks.

Happy, Happy 1st Birthday Lainey!!

Inspired } Valentine's Day Papery - Custom Accordion Hearts, Pennant, Soda Labels, Dessert Flags

What a fun inspired Valentine's Day shoot I worked on with 2 Chic Events & Design, Jacqueline Photography and Sweet Cakes by Rebecca last week! Check out Jacqueline's Blog for all the photo fabulousness.

Yours truly created the soda labels/tags, paper accordion hearts {these were sooooo cute! - will post more pics of what I did with them after the shoot}, "Be Mine" pennant/banner, paper heart medallions on the pinwheels, paper pom poms and dessert flags & confetti.

I was inspired by little Emily's argyle tights! Wanted to coordinate with those but not in a matchy-matchy way by brining in argyle again. Soooo, I went for a black and white damask pattern accented by bright red and a harlequin dark red on red pattern.

Besides loving those accordion hearts ... the tags for the soda bottles were my next fav! Thought it was just the icing on the cake pop! :) {Side note on the cake pops ... heaven on a stick!}

All the papery items shown are customizable and available to order for your event! Email us at stephanie@stephaniejdesigns.com for pricing and details.

Events } Lavish and Fabulous - Moulin Rouge

The pics for the final table I worked on at Lavish and Fabulous are up on the website! I can't grab pics to post here on my blog for some reason ... sooooo you'll have to hop on over here to view.

Items created by SJD included an invitation, banner and place cards.

The front of the boxed invitation was designed with a feathered boa, taffeta ribbon bow and gold filagree heart pendant with a Swarovski Rivioli crystal. Inside, the invitation was mounted on a layer of black and antiqued ivory paper. The interior top and bottom of the box was tailored with a luxurious pin-tucked taffeta fabric.

The little banner shouted, "CAN! CAN! CAN!" with feather boas and ribbon tying the individual panels together. Came out super-cute!

Place cards were set beneath an acrylic table top and set down into the floral table ... really an awesome effect! Each place card had a giant golden shadow Swarovski Rivioli crystal set atop a ribbon sash.

Recent Creations } Baby Shower Banner

Here's a little banner just whipped up this past week for one of my brides from 2007! She is throwing a baby shower for one of her girlfriends this weekend.

Super-cute banner for baby Carson! Nell gave me complete freedom within the color palette of chocolate & blues. I had some fun mixing solids and patterns of stripes, polka dots and plaid. Added in some fun shapes between the letters of ovals, squares and some chunky stars.

I hope it's a hit at the shower!!

Banner Pricing
$45 for the first 5 letters, additional $3.50 per letter thereafter
Custom letter shapes, papers, colors are available!

Kiddos } The Big 0-5!

What a day! Everything came together great for yesterday's Big 0-5 party!! I was making tags and favor wraps right down to the wire. :) I will post an invitation pic so that you can see the inspiration behind this fab candy & cake bar. I handed all of the invites out to family & friends without keeping one for myself! Soooo, I have to make a few more. But, I couldn't wait to post these pics!!!

A sincere, warm, enthusiastic {and a little mushy} thank you to Rebecca & Hector {Sweet Cakes by Rebecca} for Wyatt's incredible cake. It was the center of the party, the guests were amazed ... and yes, I totally teared up when Rebecca & Hector delivered the cake! My only request of Rebecca was that the cake go along with our Lego Atlantis theme, handed over a design of the invite and asked her to work her magic. And that she did. Not only was the cake amazing to look at, it tasted great too! Each of the large tiers was a different cake ... Snickerdoodle {this is to die for!}, Chocolate, and Marble. All were incredibly moist and yummy! Even the little rice crispy treat lego blocks were delicious. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am really looking forward to working with Sweet Cakes again soon!!!

My unsolicited advice to anyone ordering creative services, {whether it be cakes, decor, papery, etc.} is this ... {1} hire a proven professional, {2} explain your vision clearly and {3} let go. Put your trust their talent to bring your vision to life. Believe me, I do not relinquish control very often ... but when I can spot talent ... I am more than excited to see what someone will do when given creative freedom.

Onto the paper details! Little wraps for the mini lego favors, a quick "Wyatt" banner, candy tags and a little lolli-stick "Cake by" sign. I really wanted to showcase a little cake & candy bar and Wyatt's big 0-5 was a good opportunity to do that. I really had to reel myself in on this one ... because I have a tendency to go a little wild with these things. I could have made a candy bar fit for a 300 guest wedding if I was left up to my own devices. :)

Lots of great invites to showcase next week ... for now, enjoying the day off with my little one to relish in his "officially" turning 5 today!

Around the Studio } Remember to take a Break!

A sign of the times?  I think NOT!  Since all my design work is done at the design studio in my house, I need more than a gentle reminder to stay out of here when it's time to be wife, mother, chef, maid, professional shopper etc.

I have been wanting to get a french door for the office for sometime now - I think that would be cute and feel more like a little studio.  Long ago we took down the solid door so that the office felt more open.  However, now that there is no door it's really hard to get some peace and quiet when it is time to work - combined with the gaping doorway beckoning me constantly to check messages or just "really quick" finish up that design draft - I needed something to keep me out.  Ahhh, haaa ... so I made this super-cute little "Closed" banner to remind me that it's not workin' time - turn around and go play!

I still want to embellish it a little - some flowers here and there, maybe a little hand-glittering. Couldn't you just see a little "bride" banner, a fancy B or G for the bride and grooms reception chairs, birthday banners with the honoree's name ... aaaaaaa!  Adorable.

Working on some fabulous stuff over the next two weeks ... holiday designs coming the first week of November, long awaited signature design line, banners, new table card ideas and more, more more!

Stay tuned ...
