so inspired: the cream event. nyc.

we were blown away by the cream of the crop at the cream event in nyc last week! this was by far the best wedding showcase we've seen to date!! we were joined by our friend and designer, sharon, who is curating her own wedding next year. the soiree took place in center 548, an incredible white warehouse in the middle of chelsea. we walked into a freight elevator and were greeted with real live elevator music by a duo from philly's own elan artists who strummed away as we rode to the 2nd floor. the enormous elevator doors opened up into a fairy tale world of gold sparkles, patterns, champagne, and loads and loads of talent. we got lost in the dreamy party for a couple of hours and left with some fabulous ideas and of course a couple glittery gifts for ourselves from ban.do! check out more of the night and fun dance party in this video by tree of life films. extra special thanks to bash please for putting together such a memorable event!!

so inspired: cape cod.

chey here, back from a refreshing mini-vacay to cape cod! my family and i stayed with some good friends in chatham, massachusetts in that adorable gray shingled 'cape cod' home above. we shopped in provincetown, took a boat out to see the kennedy compound in hyannis port, lounged on the beach in chatham, and got our fill of fresh lobster rolls + homemade ice cream in between. i'm inspired + in love with the muted colors of cape cod's traditional homes, vintage signage, and the bountiful blue, purple and pink hydrangeas everywhere you turn. we hope you are all taking the time to relax and enjoy these last few weekends of summer.

so inspiring: national stationery show {part two}

we have more eye candy to share! part two of our national stationery show experience is here with more of our favorite stationers. we also had the opportunity to attend a paneled lecture titled top bloggers talk stationery trends moderated by miss sarah schwartz, founding editor of stationery trends. we had the privilege to listen to our paper idols, nole garey, founder of oh so beautiful paper; kristen magee, editor of paper crave; suann song, designer and printer for simple song design and proprietor of fifteen/eleven; lyndsey wells, editor of the stationery place. they shared some valuable tips as they discussed the latest pattern, color, and hand lettering trends. we ended our day purchasing a stock of pretty patterned boxes from smock for our invitation deliveries. we can't wait for nss 2013!

so inspired: national stationery show {part one}

special wednesday edition of inspiration here! we walked into the national stationery show for the first time on monday morning bright eyed and eager to be surrounded by the best of the best in the paper world. it was like a dream! there were aisles beyond aisles of displays, overflowing with the most beautiful invitations, notebooks, cards, packaging and prints. letterpress, foil stamping and patterns upon patterns all seem to be the hottest trends. there was so much to take in, but exciting to turn each corner to see another thoughtful booth display. the creative atmosphere also felt very personal as we talked to vendors, artists, and printers that we've read about on blogs. we made some meaningful relationships and are looking forward to grow as a company and have our own loveleigh line of goodies someday! here are a few collections from some of our favorite displays and vendors. part two is coming tomorrow!

so inspired: the knot party at front + palmer.

last wednesday we attended the knot party at front and palmer in south kensington. this is one of the newest event sites in philadelphia. it was a former barrel factory that was renovated into the most unique loft space full of natural textures and artistic chandeliers. we couldn't get enough of the chandeliers, they were each better than the next, some made from metal netting and others from metal spoons or glass bottles. we got to nibble on tasty treats from feast your eyes catering, sip on some very feminine st. germain cocktails sprinkled with flowers, and admire the most beautiful creations by robertson's flowers. we hung out with good friends and made new friends. we really enjoyed the space and were lucky to see how an event would work in there. we highly recommend this venue to those of you looking for something a little different in the area!

so inspired: w retreat + spa-vieques island, puerto rico.

happy monday! last week my husband and i (dee) were lucky enough to spend some much needed time away at the ultra chic w retreat + spa - vieques island in puerto rico. as soon as we opened the front door to the hotel, we were surrounded with luxurious design and vibrant textures created by spanish designer patricia urquiola. every new turn unveiled something even more beautiful and unique to look at. the resort was filled with reclaimed wood, bold colors and patricia's own furniture designs. we were so spoiled and feel very blessed to have had this opportunity to vacation somewhere like this. an inspiring resort any designer!

so inspired: the philadelphia flower show.

hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! i (chey) spent sunday afternoon surrounded by palms, orchids, and the sound of relaxing hawaiian music at the philadelphia flower show. the flower show has always been a favorite past time of mine and this year's theme was hawaii. the most impressive exhibits greeted you as you walked in the door -- a favorite of mine was the towering tropical plant canopy (middle left). can you imagine walking down the wedding aisle beneath this?! another favorite was this tropical ombre table runner (above) by sullivan owen for 'a wedding in the park', a collaboration with starr events. what a gorgeous way to dress up your head table or couple's table.

if you're local i recommend stopping by the show during a week day to avoid some of the crowds. you'll be rewarded with the most beautiful saturated colors and amazing scents that will do wonders for your winter blues!

a little something i brought home to adorn my desk. from linden hill gardens.

so inspired: gold foil stamping.

we have gold foil stamping on the mind! we are currently working on a wedding invitation and business card that use this technique. foil stamping is created by a hot metal die that presses down on to a thin sheet of gold foil that lays on top of the paper creating a gorgeous high quality reproduction of the image. gold foil creates a striking look that a metallic pantone ink could never achieve and shows up beautifully on both white and dark papers. we love the possibilities!

so inspired: love me do engagement shoot.

our pal amanda of love me do photography is engaged! her, her fiancé john, boris (their cute english bulldog) and the rest of the crew at love me do recently completed a super fun engagement shoot in the woods. amanda and john love everything about the outdoors, so this was the perfect setting to build a fire, eat s'mores and snuggle. these photos make us smile (and crave s'mores)! check out more of their amazing camp-themed shoot here.

we are excited to say this couple is also a client of ours. we are in the process of developing their wedding logo which they will use for stationery and day of materials for their big day this summer. these photos have been a huge inspiration as we create a mark to capture their personalities. we'll be sure to share once it's complete!

so inspired: sullivan owen wreath making class.

feeling inspired by sullivan owen floral + event design. my mom and i (cheyenne) participated in a holiday wreath making workshop at sullivan's studio last thursday evening. this was an early christmas gift for my mom and something unique that we could do together. we had the most fantastic experience! we were 2 of 4 students so we had lots of attention from sullivan and her assistant sammi. we had plenty of room to rotate our wreaths as we worked and tons of flowers, herbs, and greens at our fingertips. we both walked away with a lovely wreath to display on our front door, not to mention an awesome pair of cutting shears, apron, and extra wire to take on more decorating if we so desire.

sullivan's studio is a gorgeous space that exudes her aesthetic well. the palette is a mix of tonal grays and silvers. you walk in the front door and are immediately greeted with a floor to ceiling vintage sea green shelf unit that is loaded with interesting containers -- from metal to milk glass. any customer that walks in there knows they are going to receive a one-of-a-kind creation just by looking around the room. she is a true artist with a keen sense of color and texture. i highly recommend taking one of her floral classes for your own inspiring experience.

my finished wreath!
the camera doesn't pick up the glittered protea and berries too well, but it glistens beautifully in the sunlight. i love it!

so inspired: design*sponge at terrain.

back in september we attended a book signing for grace bonney, creator of design*sponge (one of our most fave blogs). she was promoting her fantastic new book design*sponge at home. it is chock full of inspiration from fabulously designed apartments, to diy projects and even a few before + afters. the event took place at the one and only terrain at styers. it was one of the first chilly, fall evenings and of course terrain was beautifully decorated with every type of pumpkin and mum you could imagine. while we waited for the book signing to begin, we sipped on spiked pumpkin cider served in mason jars with adorable flag stirrers as we munched on various seasonal hors d'oeuvres. it was a great evening that helped kick start some ideas for the upcoming holidays! since everyone is preparing their homes for their thanksgiving feasts, we thought we would share a few images of the night for your own inspiration.

grace will be back in philly on december 1st! she will be doing another book signing, along with a "holi-diy" wreath-making workshop at the anthropologie home office located at the philadelphia naval yard. if interested, you can purchase your tickets by clicking here.
